untiled43265Al-Ihsan Projects presented another exciting event in Slough during December ’15 entitles ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’. The team invited two speakers, one of whom was a resident speaker and teacher, Dr Uthman Lateef and the second, a well know personality in the Muslim community, Hamza Tzortzis. With the event oversubscribed and the venue filled soon after doors opened; the vibe was one of positive energy and a welcoming atmosphere; true to the Al-Ihsan Projects tradition.

The second speaker, Hamza Tzortzis focussed on the reality of happiness and the mechanisms to facilitate ones acquisition of true happiness. Hamza delved into the psychology of how we perceive happiness in our lives and the triggers which both satiate, the need for being happy and how your happiness can become a pure emotion. He tried to get the audience to realise the root for why we are in continuous pursuit of happiness and sometimes how it is merely manufactured to mask other, less desirable, emotional faculties.

Hamza’s unique and refreshing style captivated the audience and provided much needed food for thought. He finished off by emphasising the need for becoming a student of knowledge, how one should embark on acquiring knowledge via a teacher and not just relying books alone. Thus linking the increase in knowledge to amount of happiness one experiences.
